Rob's Music Bio
A long journey. It's been fine.
I'm Rob, and I'm fine. I've been a musician for over 25 years. I am a man of many online identities and personas. The genres I operate in range greatly. From my 1950s inspired crooner project Robert Christopher, to my duet pop ballad project with my lifelong friend Britt After the Tone, or my alternative/rap/comedy project known as We Skeem and everything in between. The full list of my musical identities and projects is much longer than that, but the point is I keep my interests and artistic pursuits varied.
Outside of music, you can catch me reviewing various products as Subpar Professional. Whether you're here for one of my projects or all of them, thanks for being here. I love the art of creating in its many various forms and am happy to be able to share that art with strangers, fans, admirers, and confused onlookers alike.

PRESS 1
"Please leave your message after the tone, when you have finished recording, you may hang up, or press 1 for more options."
The story behind "PRESS 1"
Press 1 comes on the heels of the conclusion of the musical duet After the Tone. With Britt and I mutually parting ways and ending our endeavor of pursuing music as a full-time career together, I had to decide if I would take a hiatus from music or try something else. I decided to begin a new project titled "Rob is fine." with the first album being a transition away from After the Tone. Just as the name "After the Tone" was inspired by an answering machine, so too was "Press 1."

"Please leave your message, after the tone, when you have finished recording you may hang up, or, press 1 for more options."

Press 1 is me mulling over my "options" as I move forward from After the Tone. It's an album about love, loss/grieving, moving forward, and regrets in the face of getting older. It is the first step of a new journey that I hope you enjoy.
